Sienna - 16.01 - Day 1

Day1

Sydney-Singapore,Singapore-Bangkok 15th+16th

Lex drops us off in her car and I climb out of the car crying because I really missed Pickles and Dexter (our dogs).

At Sydney airport we board our plane at 10:00pm. We are flying on Scoot airlines and our seat patterning looks like this:

(window seat)Seb  Katie  Me  Aisle  Matt

Our flight was 7 hours long and I found it very hard to sleep which meant the flight was very boring for me.

We arrive at Singapore airport a few minutes early and our next flight is in 3 hours so we explore the airport whilst we’re waiting.

One of the first things we notice about Singapore is that there is soo many plants! There were probably 10 gardens if not more! Some of my favourites were the orchid garden which had a fish pond in it too. There was also a butterfly garden but unfortunately the butterflies were inside a cage-like thing and you could see all the cocoons the butterflies had hatched from. There were even some unhatched cocoons.

Believe it or not but there were also plants in the female bathroom! I mean who puts plants in a bathroom!?

Singapore airport is very spread out so in order to get around you travel on something named a skytrain. The skytrain is a train that travels on one wheel and there’s no driver so I’m guessing it’s been programmed to run back and forth along its track.

Anyway moving onto our 2nd flight: Singapore to Bangkok. We departed at 7am (local time) and thankfully the flight was only 1 and a half hours long. Even though we were still flying on Scoot Airways we had different seatings:

Window seat  Matt  Seb  Aisle  Katie  Me  Empty seat!

Because I had an empty seat next to me we put up the armrests on both sides so that I could lay my head on my mum's lap and rest my legs and feet on the empty seat. That allowed me to get some sleep.

Of course I didn’t sleep the whole flight so in the extra time I played IQ fit where you have all the different pieces and you have to fit them all into the little tub they came in.

We arrive in Bangkok at 8:30 (local time) and catch a taxi to our hostel where we were staying whilst we were in Bangkok. The name of the hostel we are staying at is Sawatdee. Out the front there is a cafe named Diamond Wit Cafe where we have our first meal: honey and banana on toast which was very yummy.

We are then introduced to our room which has a king sized bed and 2 single beds. I instantly dibs the single bed by the window so Seb ends up with the other single bed and my mum and dad share the king size bed.

After we had moved our luggage into our new room we went for a little walk to explore the neighbourhood. Whilst we were walking we came across a Seven Eleven where me and Seb had our 2nd meal: a little jelly cup, strawberry flavour. When we got back home (well to our hostel) we had a little rest and my dad realised that his head hurt so he fell asleep and whilst he was sleeping me, my mum and Seb went out for another walk where we got some pot noodles that we shared (my dad still sleeping).

Money-

Thai people use baht

100-. is worth $5, what you do is you get rid of the 0 and

                                                    100 becomes 10 which

then half the number

becomes $5
