01.08 - Day 199 - Mynytho

Thursday 1st August - Mynytho (Day 199)

Corinne and the girls come up to Mynytho - they’re staying with Aunty Judy and Martin in Llanbedrog - and there’s general play all moving in the house and garden.

Come nap time Kate stays with Lily and Sophie while the rest of us pile down to Abersoch beach in through the yacht club and out on the launch to our boat Carousel on the moorings.

Sienna and Seb especially have been very excited about the prospect and we chug out to the islands getting close to the sunbathing seals on the rocks. No seals on the other island, around by Ben Grylls, who lives on the island. He later appears behind us as we later return to shore.

When asked, part in jest, who’s going for a swim, Seb and Lucy say ‘Me!’
Moving on around at Porth Ceiriad, Corinne and I also will have to get in. Even after testing water in a bucket hauled from the sea, they don’t waver, so it results in us jumping in.

I have to float around while Seb takes turn after turn, jumping in, bobbing back to the surface, swimming back to the boat, climbing aboard and jumping in again.

All good fun in the sun and it’s nice for Sienna, Seb and Lucy to relive mine and Corinne’s childhoods.

But as kids we never had a heated pool back at the house that everyone gets into, including the twins - all of us being watched over by Buddy pacing around the edge of the pool on lifeguard duty.
