09.09 - Day 238 - Salzburg, AUT
Monday 9th September - Salzburg (Day 238)
It is the first day of the school year and the weather celebrates the end of the summer holidays with pouring rain in the morning. I drop Clem and Mila at work and daycare, whilst Noah has a (very) shortened first day back at school, Sienna and Seb press through their schoolwork.
On Noah’s return we take him as our tour guide to Hangar 7, a collection of Red Bull vehicles on the edge of the airport - a very popular destination on a wet day like today.
From formula 1 cars to a large silver DC3 aeroplane, it’s a nice free little museum / exhibition - and serves to show that not not only does Red Bull gives you wings, it also gives you lots and lots of profit. Even the toilets have displays on show (the women’s being a giant, big, huge bouquet of flowers).
After a stop at the Stiegl brewery for some fresh beers, it’s back home for lunch.
Thankfully the rain eases and with Clau, Noah and Mila we’re able to go to Hellbrunner Park, walking first round the stately gardens with huge fish in the large ponds - a kind that really don’t look friendly - and then to the playpark where the kids and adults shoot down the flying fox, and a rubber sheeting that lets the adults launch the kids into the air if you jump on it.
A last supper at Clem and Claudia’s house as our time in Salzburg, and Austria, draws to a close. We're unable to tie them down on when exactly they'll be moving back to Sydney but they promise us they will.
