16.09 - Day 245 - Trogir, CRO
Monday 16th September - Trogir, Croatia (Day 245)
Sure enough the clouds have cleared this morning on my early walk around the Old Town without any of those pesky tourists. I’m sure there’s a murder mystery story to be based here with the dark narrow alleys and hiding nooks and crannies.
Once everyone is up and about and after Sienna and Seb’s respective 8am calls with teachers back in Sydney, we pack a picnic and head out, pulling over firstly at Crcica just because the water looks calm and see through.
We park on the roadside and claim a small pebble beach as our own. We swim in the sea, snack, swim, play Phase 10, swim, eat lunch. This is the Adriatic Croatia I was picturing.
We opt to move on, making our way past Saltine onto gravel tracks, where small pockets of beach are each occupied by one couple or group. It’s off-peak enough that people don’t really have to share each cove and eventually we plump down on another beach, building little dens and swimming some more under blue skies.
We try our luck once more, heading to the west of the island to the more popular beaches, but the wind is blowing onshore here so instead we collect some ice creams to inhale at a 4th beach - Bocic - before a final dip and back home for dinner.
