30.09 - Day 259 - Sutivan, CRO
Monday 30th September - Sutivan (Brac Island), Croatia (Day 259)
My usual early walk, catching the sunrise between the old white stone buildings on the cobbled alleyways, watch fist sized stone laid from the beech decades ago.
It’s a holiday day today involving only swims in the sea, football behind the beach on the immediate astroturf and walking the 3 minutes back to Villa Anni as and when needed for sustenance.
Low lights include realising Seb has swam in the swim wearing his smart (ish) birthday present watch and Sienna losing her snorkel mask jumping off the platform. Highlights include the watch surviving and the mask eventually retrieved 3 metres under the bobbing platform.
On our afternoon visit to play football, Seb and I invite a local kid to join in with us. An hour later it’s me and 2 other Croatian dads versus 7 kids after which I need a final swim to cool down.
When we’d told the kids we would be staying at our next place (this one) for 4 nights, Sienna responded ‘It had better be good’, Kate encouraged her with when-has-dad-booked-any-duds and I think after a successful stint in this large village, our choice was vindicated.
