14.10 - Day 273 - Sasso Marconi, ITA
Monday 14th October - Sasso Marconi, Italy (Day 273)
After a couple of larger day trips to Bologna and Parma, plus it being the first day of Term 4 means we’ve planned nothing for today.
Sienna slides back into doing school work in our oak beamed loft apartment whilst Seb is pushed into it.
It’s helpful to have Diego the dog - who seemingly lives outside - downstairs to use as a carrot to encourage both kids to get their work done.
We briefly pop into Sasso Marconi for shopping and a playpark (a very impressive 20 foot long helicopter that has Sienna and Seb asking to come back) before lunch at the apartment - still making slow progress through the giant salami from the owners.
There are a couple of horses in a paddock next door, along with a thrice spotted giant rabbit, which, along with Diego keeps Sienna and Seb happy.
In between Ca Fortuzzi and the town is a giant fast flowing river, at which we then spend an hour building, extending some dams with stones and sand.
Dinner involves relighting the birthday candles again, because, why not?
And like that, the day is gone.
