13.11 - Day 303 - Charia to Stoupa (Mani), GRE
Wednesday 13th November - Charia to Stoupa, Mani Greece (Day 303)
Better weather first thing allowed Seb and I to play a bit of football in the empty village square before school work and packing up.
It’s so out of season that several places are telling us to leave when we want to, arrive when we want as there’s no outgoing guests before or incoming guests after us.
It’s only an hour up the road to Stoupa, albeit in some intensive rain showers, still on the coast and we arrive at our apartment at Amani Earthy Living (not sure what the Earthy bit is) for midday - and that’s after doubling back on ourselves due to Google Maps being overly optimistic on what constitutes a road.
There’s a shared pool with the apartment above, but of course there’s no one else here, so it’s our (very cold) pool.
There’s also a power cut so we seek lunch down in the town at one of the tavernas - who also have the power cut until the moment we order. Removed from that constraint we share a meat mixed grill and two souvlakis which all goes down a treat with the 3 euro 0,5 litre of rose.
We eat overlooking the beach and that’s where we head next - having this large sandy beach basically to ourselves. After some intensive dam and castle building it’s swim time, now overcrowded with one other person in the sea.
Seb’s the only one brave enough to get in the pool back at the house, which provides excellent views of the dramatic sunset.
